Snail Chenille Sticks

Step By Step Directions:

​Supplies for snail:

  • 3 chenille sticks, multi colors

  • Tacky Glue​

  • googly eyes

  • scissors (optional)

Directions:

  • Cross 2 full size chenille sticks close to the end.​

  • Hold firmly with one hand while twisting sticks together with other hand.

  • Continue twisting together until you reach the end to make 1 intertwined stick.

  • Bend the 3rd full size chenille stick in half.

  • Put the 2 halves of the bent stick together and twist together above the bend to make a small​ circle.  (The size of a dime.) This circle will be the body.

  • Make another small cirlcle right above the first one, leaving long antennae. This circle will be the head.

  • Bend at the joint between the 2 circles so that the bottom circle rests flat on table. Now, Snail can stand!

  • Curl the tips of the antennae with your fingers.

  • Tightly coil the intertwined chenille stick. This will be the snails shell.

  • Connet the shell to the body by twisting the outer end of the coil to the bottom circle.

  • Pull the cent of the coil up to make a cone shaped shell.

  • Adjust the coil to be tighter if needed.

  • Glue the googly eyes on with Tacky Glue and let dry.

    ​

  • Your masterpiece is finished!
