Blogging builds confidence in writing.

Classroom blogging can be a bridge for students between the familiar digital world and what is being asked of them in academic world. Students have the opportunity to practice writing and analytical skills that will eventually transfer into more formal writing. It is helpful to familiarize the students with the blog workspace with fun, informal assignments, as they navigate posting photos, writing and creating video content. With daily informal posts, students will build their confidence as writers,  learn about digital literacy and community, which will help prepare them for the higher education environment.

Benefits for the educator.

Blogging can also be of great benefit to educators. Blogs can simply serve as a focal point for student writing exercises or it can be used as an organizational tool to unite writing exercises, class announcements and assignments in one space or hub with the educator as the Admin of the site.  An entire library of lesson plans can be created, organized, stored and shared with others. It's a great way to streamline communication with your homeschooler or co-op.
